The Taiwanese Marine Corps calls this "the road to heaven" and it's a final exam for the student members of the ROCMC EOD/RECON battalion. Each graduating student member of the EOD/RECON must crawl thru this road paved with sharp, jagged coral rocks (with hands behind the back) in order to successfully graduate and become a full fledged EOD diver, otherwise the student will be expelled from the team, and that means years of training wasted.
